Musicality

My mom said i'm a bit weird because in my generation, i appreciate Classical Music when i'm supposed to listen to Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and all other pop music. Don't get me wrong but I really like Katy Perry and i also love to listen to pop music but in my iPod there is always a playlist for classical music. I even go to concerts that are classical in genre and never have i went to concerts of Pop music. Well, i would probably go if it's Katy Perry but it should be in Cebu not in Manila.
Just a year ago, i found a choir who sings classical music. They are called Libera and since then I have been an addict to their songs. A sample is:

Also, they had a concert here in Cebu and together with my mom and friends we went there. I wouldn't miss it for the world. It was held in Waterfront and luckily the date of their concert was my birthday so, going to the concert was my birthday gift from my mom. To top it all off, my bestfriend gave me a Libera CD with their signatures/autograph on it. It was the best! Furthermore, during the concert Libera sang a Filipino song which was Bayan Ko! I couldn't believe it at first then you hear there twang. It was funny because of how they pronounced it but their voices are really good. So again here is the Bayan Ko: Enjoy!

I think my appreciation of classical music was influenced more when i decided to enter our school choir and our supervisor made me change my perspective of music. Music is not just all about the tunes and the lyrics, it's also about who is it for, what for is this song about? It should not just express yourself but it should make the people listen to your point, to your belief and views. There are still a lot more on what music is really about and once you understand it, it'll pile up more and more.

Procrastination

Lately, I've been procrastinating and i know that this is not the right time to procrastinate because next week is already finals week.
They say procrastinating is a bad habit and i beg to disagree. Though i'm not really the type who procrastinates, but this habit is of great help to me. Procrastinating makes me "nanning"/work harder at the nick of time. Whenever the deadline is getting near, it's the time I work harder. This is the time where i feel the adrenaline rush. It feels very exciting for me sometimes whenever I get stressed because I know I'm doing something unlike when you're not stressed but you're really, really bored. I'd rather feel stressed than get bored to death.
People might say that I'm lazy or I'm not using my time well but I really don't care. Procrastinating brings out the best in me. Ironic right? but it's the truth.
When i was still in high school i did 2 projects, one is i used my time wisely and the other one i procrastinated. Both of them got the same results, almost perfect. So, i'd rather procrastinate but i'm not saying it's for forever. I still have a big life ahead of me and i'm not going to waste it to procrastinate. By the way, the projects were sewing stuff for TLE.
I also have to balance when to procrastinate and when it's not the right time to or I might end up being like her:

Sinulog Fever

i know it is already February and that Sinulog was just last January but let me share you something about it.
First, let us tackle on what is really Sinulog and how it came to be.
"Sinulog is a dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Nino. The dance moves to the sound of the drums and this resembles the current (Sinulog) of what was then known as Cebu’s Pahina River. Thus, in Cebuano, they say it’s Sinulog."

Historical accounts say that before Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan came to Cebu on April 7, 1521 to plant the cross on its shore and claim the country for the King of Spain, Sinulog was already danced by the natives in honor of their wooden idols and anitos. Then Magellan came and introduced Christianity. He gave the Santo Nino (image of the Child Jesus) as baptismal gift to Hara Amihan, wife of Cebu’s Rajah Humabon who was later named Queen Juana. At that time, not only the rulers were baptized but also about 800 of their subjects. Unfortunately, however, shortly after the conversion, Magellan went into a reckless adventure by fighting the reigning ruler of Mactan, Rajah Lapulapu, with only a handful of men. He died in the encounter. That was on April 27, 1521...... more of the history is actually here: Sinulog History. All the credits for all the information used is actually in that site.

I know that Sinulog really is a very big and grand festival but i usually just stay at home and enjoy my "me" time by reading a book, surfing the net all day, or even sleep all day. Most of the time, i surf the net but there are also times that i do my assignments, homeworks and project on that day. I also actually don't care about those TV personalities and celebrities who are there sitting and waving in their respective floats. BUT i would definitely be there if the celebrities are from HOLLYWOOD like Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley but i think that's impossible. I don't go out because of the crowd, the dirty streets, the smell of the people and no ways of transportation. Those are my main reasons for not going out on a lively festival.

Prior to the day before the festival, there is actually the procession. Now, this is something I wouldn't miss for the world. Me and my mom join every year bringing our Sñr. Santo Niño image and our rosaries. I was actually overjoyed knowing that we wouldn't be able to join the crowd control that is actually a requirement for our NSTP because i will be able to join my mom in the procession. But the procession last time was a bit of a disaster because it was raining really, REALLY hard but it did not stop the people from continuing the procession.
To the Cebuanos: Haven't you ever wondered why Cebu is not always being hit by strong storms,. typhoons and other natural disasters and that Cebu is a prospering province?? They say it's because of our FAITH. Because we have this Sinulog, that we return what we have indebted to our God and I actually believe this. Though i don't have a very great faith like the others but i have Faith in HIM and i hope that you do also.
In God We Trust.

Neglect

I'm sitting here inside the ICT room, neglecting whatever our instructor is saying.
It's almost time and I don't want to go to our next subject.
I want to stay in this lab because it's very cool.
Why can't all classrooms be all air-conditioned??
I don't feel like going to classes now.
I want to go home and just surf the net without someone watching what i am surfing.
I can't wait to eat for lunch, i didn't have breakfast a while ago.
Making a video for our project in ICT is very troublesome.
I've experienced this before, having late nights, eye strain, headache, skipping meals just to finish the video.
I even think that the outcome of our video will be bad, not that i'm discriminating my skills and stuff in editing it's just that i'm just a lazy person.
oh why, oh why did i decide to be an educator? oh well, at least i'm happy with it :)
The problem now is our burner is broken so i'm very troubled but i know i can make a way with the help of our Saving Grace.
Lord God, Heavenly King, Almighty Father! and all other gods out there, I am calling you for help. Help me with your divine intervention that this video will be a good or if pwede the best video made or will have a high grade. So help me God. Amen.
Am i asking for too much?? Well, this is it. God bless me.
